Last year I decided to reduce the publications on the blog and I announced it when talking about the summer break of «Penna blu» in August , which in reality was not a real break: I only published 4 articles, all about reading. And this year? This year the situation has changed. Already in January I chose to publish only one weekly article, a painful but necessary choice. But in August my decision is to close the blog and resume in September . Partly the heat, which makes it unbearable for me to stay at the computer and think and write and plan, and partly the desire to disconnect and be free see me forced to take a break in the worst month of the year (for me, yes intends). Unable to reply to comments If I'm out, I won't be able to respond to comments this year, firstly because to date I still have no SIM in my phone and secondly because, even if I have one, it will be a pay-as-you-go SIM, with data traffic blocked.
So I won't be able to access the network, nor will the network be able to access me. More time to write fiction Days ago I sent the science fiction story to the publisher and if it is accepted, I will talk about it in due course. In the meantime I finished writing another, also science fiction, then I wrote the one for the call for the third solidarity Special Data anthology launched by Serena and I started another, which I can classify as apocalyptic. And then the two previous stories would need a revision. In the meantime, another idea was born and I jotted down some notes. And then there's the novel, which has been blocked for several weeks. The novel that replaced PU and that to this day I don't know whether to continue or not. For PU I have some books to read for documentation, all bought except one, plus to develop the setting of one of the stories, which was very lacking. What to do with the 2 novels? We need time to reflect. And time to think about the next year of the blog On September 1st it will be 7 years of Blue Pen.
It falls on a Friday so there will be an amazing post, since I now post on a Thursday. Seventh grade crisis? Yes, there was, as I went from two to just one article a week. And the eighth vintage of «Penna blu»? I have about ten posts pinned, which I would like to publish starting from September 7th, but we'll see. In the meantime, I hope other ideas come along. And if you don't know what to do with your blog in August, here... …two useful reads on summer blogging Use the summer to improve your blog : after spring cleaning comes summer renovations. How to manage the blog in the summer months : stop publications? Anticipate writing posts? Here are some tips on how to navigate summer blogging. And with this I wish you happy holidays and we'll see you again on September 1st.
